Case Study – Insurance Hunter

In 2010 insurance companies were starting to notice a trend in the way people researched and shopped for insurance.  As many were tied to their relationships with brokers they struggled to determine how to capitalize on the opportunity without also impacting their relationship with their sales team.

We were engaged to assist with the development of a strategy, design, build and launchof an online Home & Auto insurance brokerage.  

 

 Phase I – Strategy & Design 
We conducted an assessment of how to move forward with this digital brokerage and still preserve broker relationships.  After great deliberation our conclusion was that an aggressive, entrepreneurial brokerage should be engaged as a partner for such a venture.  As  result we conducted countless evaluations and discussions with brokers across the country trying to find the ideal partner for the venture.  Once that was achieved we leveraged our extensive knowledge of branding, web design, customer experience and digital marketing to design the site that would eventually become Insurance Hunter. 



 Phase II – Build & Test 
We worked with technology vendors to build the site and the partner brokerage to operationalize the company.  Often the diverse group around the table with different perspectives resulted in debates, which led to incredible results.  In parallel, we also assisted with the partner negotiation that was going on in the background and the preparations needed to ensure the site was SEO ready for when we launched.  We worked with the team on the SEO strategy, the architecture of the site, the design of landing pages and much more.  Finally we went in to a period of testing that included rate testing, penetration testing, load testing and of course business acceptance testing.

 

 Phase III – Delivery & Launch 
We launched Insurance Hunter and were delighted to see the site rise to page 1 of Google with 90 days.  As well, in partnering with an exceptional brokerage, we found the call centre to be operating seamlessly to deliver a fantastic client experience.  While digital home & auto insurance brokerages are now quite common, what we achieved at the time was an innovative step forward which delivered a convenient experience for customers and brought insurance companies and the entire insurance industry into the 21st century.
